Healthy Schools Status

Through Team work within Poplar and the hard work and dedication of Mekala (Business Manager) and Kathy (Teacher) Poplar have been successful in securing a Healthy Schools Status.

Charlotte Baulch the English Teacher

Charlotte has been completing a Forestry Course to coincide with her Coastal Schools Qualification.

Forestry School sessions provide increasingly diverse opportunities for young people to benefit from a supportive curriculum that can help them to build positive values and attitudes about themselves, about learning and the environment in which they live.  Young people are given appropriately challenging and achievable tasks that build their confidence, skills and independence and are given the time to thoroughly explore their thoughts, feelings and relationships.  This time and reflective practice develops inter- and intra- personal skills, which are well-documented as being directly linked to learning skills.

We are wishing Charlotte the best of luck as she has worked extremely hard on gaining this qualification for the school and we will keep you updated on her results.
